Housing Assistance Success
After a hurricane forced one of our clients to evacuate, her landlord attempted to exploit the situation by denying her access to her apartment, citing renovations, and even changing the locks. Despite paying six months of rent in advance, she was suddenly without a home and owed her money back. BEAM stepped in, confronted the landlord, and cited the legal statutes protecting tenants in such situations. We successfully advocated for her rights, got her a refund, and helped acquire new housing.
Mental Health
An employee experienced the devastating loss of his wife, who died from a heart attack. BEAM immediately provided emotional and logistical support during his grieving process and matched him with a specialized therapist to provide weekly care tailored to his needs. Legal Troubles
One of our client's employees, a licensed plumber and dedicated family man, discovered he had an outstanding warrant for a 2005 distribution charge issued just weeks before Hurricane Katrina. The storm had destroyed much of his home and local courthouse, and he had relocated out of state for years before returning to rebuild his life. After being alerted to the warrant during a traffic stop, he reached out to BEAM. We worked with the clerk of court, negotiating a dismissal of the charges and navigating the bureaucracy to secure a judge’s signature the same day—ensuring he didn’t miss a single day of work.
Trauma Support
During the Caesars Casino renovation project, a tragic accidental death shook the construction site. Recognizing the profound emotional impact on workers, BEAM quickly stepped in to provide support. For three days, Beam's mental health professionals were on-site, offering counseling and emotional assistance to help workers process the loss. By providing immediate and compassionate care, BEAM ensured that the workforce felt supported during such a difficult time, fostering resilience and solidarity among the team.

A client came to BEAM for help transitioning his child from public to private school, as he had no prior experience with private education. BEAM's Workforce Navigator assisted by researching different private schools, helping the client understand their unique offerings, and set up tours. We also connected him with current parents and supported him in applying for tuition assistance to make the option more financially accessible. After weighing all the criteria, the client was able to make an informed decision that best suited his child’s needs.
